The Kentucky Headhunters Headline Labor Day Bash 2023!

The Kentucky Headhunters once again graced the stage at the Smoky Mountain Harley Davidson’s The Shed to celebrate The Sheds 19th Birthday Bash on Labor Day Weekend!
People came from all over to see The Kentucky Headhunters. They always put on a great and fun show , especially at The Shed! If you have never seen Them at the Shed your definitely missing out. The Kentucky Headhunters are known as “southern rock royalty” They have won a Grammy, CMA, Album and vocal Group of the year but they are still just as nice as can be to everyone they meet!
The Shed , It was Definitely THE place to be for labor day weekend for a Great Time!
Opening the Show was the local East Tennessee band The Dirty Gospel. They Did a great job warming up the crowd with their Rocking and energetic southern rock set. They Released their first single summer of 2022 called ” Say My Name” and released their full album “Higher Ground” in the fall of 2022. Be sure to check them out too!
Then it was time for the headliners!
The Kentucky Headhunters !! They took to the stage to a roaring and cheering crowd! The crowd was into it from the start and so was the band. The Kentucky Headhunters came out Rocking and didnt slow down!
They played all your favorite Kentucky Headhunter Songs Like, Davy Crockett, ( Drummer Fred Young Always comes out wearing his Davy Crockett cap too! ) , Walk Softly On This Heart Of Mine, Dumas Walker, Oh Lonesome me, Stumblin, Spirit In The Sky, They Have so many great songs they could have played all night! They Did one of their newer songs called “ Lets all get together and fight” which is always a Big hit with the audience. Richard Always does a great job on it and entertaining the audience. Its a song about a family getting together for the holidays with lyrics like“ too many cooks in the kitchen, too many kinfolks bitching so lets all get together and fight”. Richard Young Sings that one and its always a crowd pleaser! Its off their newest CD called “Thats a Fact Jack” and if you haven’t gotten it yet what are you waiting for? It is a Great Album.!
Fred Young Did His Always Amazing Drum Solo to the cheering and screaming audience. They were chanting GO Fred Go! It is quite the drum solo as he doesn’t just play with sticks he also beats the drums with his hands! It Is Always a crowd pleasing part of the show. Greg Martin was wearing his white cowboy hat this time and has since grown a beard. He always does a great job especially on the song ” Spirit in the sky”. Doug Phelps did an amazing job on bass and vocals and keeping the audience entertained. These Guys always give 100 percent every time and are not slowing down! Always smiling and having fun. Near The End Of The Night They Brought Out Smoky Mountain Harley Davidson/ Shed Owner Scott Maddux on stage and he took over on Richard’s guitar for a song to the cheering crowd. They Ended The Night jamming out to the Beatles . A medley of ” Don’t Let Me Down/ and Hey Jude” . It was quite the night of great music!
