The Grammy winning, Southern Rock Royalty, The Kentucky Headhunters once again Made their annual stop at the Smoky Mountain Harley Davidson The Shed Smokehouse and Juke Joint to headline The Sheds 20th Anniversary Birthday Bash Labor Day Weekend and boy was it a party! People came from all over to see The Kentucky Headhunters!
Opening the Show was the Sedonas an Americana Rock band who have played with everyone under the sun from country to Rock to southern Rock and more. Lead Singer James Connor Wike Leading the way with his cool stage persona and always moving and jumping around . They make for a fun time! Check them out! After their set
there came a big rain . The Shed is an outdoor and thankfully covered venue. The Rain Cleard out just in time ! Then it was time for The Kentucky Headhunters!!!
They hit The stage to massive screams of delight from the audience! doing all your classic Kentucky Headhunters Songs including but not limited to “ Walk Softly on This Heart Of Mine”, Dumas Walker, “Daddy was a Milk Man” , One of my all time favorites “ Spirit in The Sky” They Had The Crowd Going from the start. A very high energy show . People singing and dancing to every song.
We were one Headhunter Short that night. Richard Young announced to the audience that his brother and fellow Headhunter Drummer extraordinaire Fred Young was out due to a medical issue. But assured everyone he was doing well and would be back soon. The audience got an extra special treat that night as they had The Perfect Person to fill in for Fred on Drums. None other than Richard Youngs Son John Fred Young of The Band Blackstone Cherry! He was an added surprise and really gave an electrifying performance with hair and drum sticks flying!
Near The end of the night it is always customary for Smoky Mountain Harley Davidson/Shed owner Scott Maddux to Join The Guys onstage taking over on Richard Young Guitar and Rocking out with the guys to the song “ Little Queenie” . Everyone was having a blast onstage and in the audience. The Shed is THE place to be on Labor Day Weekend with the Fabulous Kentucky Headhunters!
They Ended The Night doing a medley of the Beatles songs “ Don’t Let Me Down” and “Hey Jude” . Their newest album is called “Thats a Fact Jack” so be sure to get you a copy. Its Wonderful.
