Chuck Ragan Plays to Packed House in Knoxville Tennessee

American Singer/Songwriter and International touring and recording artist Chuck Ragan made his debut show and headlined at The Open Chord All Things Music Venue in Knoxville Tennessee recently to a packed house. We were lucky to get him here ahead of his Uk Tour. What a treat it was too! Those who might not be familiar with Chuck Ragan He is The Vocalist and Guitarist for the punk Rock band Hot Water Music. He also does solo shows and writes and records his own music. He does solo shows that are striped down acoustic shows. showcasing his folk inspired music. His latest release is titled “ Love and Lore” on Rise Records and its out now! Chuck is the son of PGA/Ryder Cup Golfer Dave Ragan and Gospel singer Geraldine Ragan Who used her Ventriloquist dummy named “ Rickey” to help spread the gospel in a fun and unique way. Sadley she has passed away. His wife is Jill Ragan she is an actress.
Chuck has toured all over the United States and Europe. He will soon be returning to The Uk and Ireland for some shows. Catch him if you can! Chuck also was raised in the Chattanooga Tennessee area and while in Tennessee he made a quick trip to visit his old house and neighborhood.
The Knoxville show was a packed house. Chuck took to the stage with his acoustic guitar and occasionally used his harmonica. He’s a multitalented guy! His raspy voice and wonderful songs had the audience mesmerized and singing along! Some fans were shouting out songs and when he would sing that song the crowd would go wild. You could definitely see and feel the passion and soul he has about the music in his voice as he performed. So be sure to get “ Love and Lore” its a wonderful album!

Also performing (second slot) that night was Cory Branan. Cory Has released several albums and has had a lot of critical acclaim from NPR Rolling Stone and others calling him “a country boy with a punk rock heart”. Hés appeared on the Letterman show and at the Ryman and is currently doing a few shows with Tyler Childers. He is also mentioned in the Lucero song “ Tears Don’t Matter Much” with the lyrics “ Cory Branan got an evil streak and a way with words that’ll bring you to your knees” He Was quite entertaining . Playing his acoustic guitar and changing to his electric guitar and sometimes making faces. The crowd seemed to love him . He also brought up Chuck Ragan to sing a song with him that was an extra special treat!

Opening the Show for the night was Vagabon Brew a local Knoxville Tennessee Rock Band. Kicking off the night with their seventies inspired music, They definitely got the crowd warmed up.
