Country Superstar and Grand Ole Opry member Eddie Montgomery of the band Montgomery Gentry is celebrating 25 years of success in the music business and is touring all over the country. The Montgomery Gentry band Featuring Eddie Montgomery made a stop for a show at the Country Tonight Theater In Pigeon Forge Tennessee recently to a packed house . Another Amazing concert brought to you by East Tennessee Concerts. It was Great seeing Eddie and the guys. It was a stormy day again in East Tennessee but the fans showed up! Merchandise lines were long. Eddie had His First Solo Album “ Aint No Closing Me Down” and his Newest EP “ Home Run” for fans to purchase among lots of other things.
Opening the Show was none other than Cody McCarver of Confederate Railroad fame. He did an acoustic set with just him and another guy but the crowd seemed to love him and at one point he had the crowd light up the theater with their cellphones which made for an awesome site.( more on Cody in another article.)
Eddie wasted no time hitting the stage bounding from the side swinging and twirling his microphone stand as he has always done.
He was wearing jeans, a jacket, his American flag scarf draped around his neck and of course his signature BAH.(as he calls it or Big ass Hat ). and Red Jim Beam Boots. Kicking off the night with “ Where I Come From” . One of my many favorites was next “ Lonely and Gone” . “ Couldn’t Change Me” “ Something to be Proud Of” . A little AC/DC intro then the Montgomery Gentry song “ Hell Yeah” Eddie was running all over the stage with hands in the air and making funny faces and horns on his head. It sure did entertain the kids too. One point he threw out his sunglasses to the crowd and the little kid who received them was ecstatic. He also performed “ Lucky Man” “ What Do You Think About That” . He also did a melody of songs including “ All Night Long” “ Long Line of Loosers” “ Back when I knew it all” ” Daddy Won’t Sell The Farm” “ If You Ever Stop Loving Me” There was a touching and very moving moment during the show, showing photos of his musical partner who tragically passed away 8 years ago, Troy or “T-Roy” as he called him on the screen . Whom Eddie had made a pack with he would continue on with the Montgomery Gentry band and which he has done. I believe they were playing the song “ Roll with me” . The band also did the song “ One in Every Crowd” Eddie Making faces pulling up the brim of his hat and then the band formed a line someone in a tutu and a wig came out on stage handed the guys cups with drinks they drank them down tossed them over their heads and broke into the song “ My Town” to a singing crowd waving their hands in the air . No slowing down they did the popular song “ Gone” and of course their closing number after a brief pause in the action was Eddie pulling up his one pant leg to showcase his signature Red Jim Beam Boot! and he broke into the bands popular song “HillBilly Shoes” . It was a Great Night of music . Lots of Fun. Be sure to catch Eddie and the band if you can. To keep up with Eddie go to www.http://www.MontgomeryGentry.com
