Gunshine is a high energy rock band that has exploded on the scene. The band hails from the panhandle of Florida. Gunshine is the brainchild of guitarist, Austin Ingerman. Austin created Gunshine during the pandemic. When everything was shut down he had time to pause and focus on what he wanted in a rock band, He wanted to create a fresh edgy rock band that had attitude and catchy songs. He has done just that. Although they have only been on the scene for a short time. They have a loyal following. And are growing by leaps and bounds, The band is comprised of Austin Ingerman guitarist and main songwriter. Austin, is Formerly of the band New Year’s Day. Austin delivers blistering guitar solos That are on point. Jordan Benson became their singer after an exhaustive search. Jordan has got charisma, and Showmanship. He, delivers soaring vocals with a distinctive voice. Jordan is also a distant cousin to the one and only Elvis Presley. (Jordan also loves his doggies.) Jake Tripp , ( The Fifth) Bassist joined the band a couple of years ago and is an exceptional bassist. Delivering thunderous, bass riffs. Jake is all over the stage. Jake is a very great addition to the band. Tommy Salzburg, the drummer. Delivers the thunderous beat. All while smiling. The guys mesh very well together. This is a very good combination of musicians.
Gunshine just kicked off the tour and recently played in Knoxville, Tennessee at the Open Chord, All Things Music, venue. They headlined that show. I spoke with Jake Tripp before the show. Jake says they have a full length album titled, Gunshine and a new E.P. called Checkmate. He says they are working on a new full length Album To be out, hopefully no later than next year. Jake says they are experimenting with lots of different sounds and styles. The guys have played and shared a stage with Stephen Pearcy of Ratt last year. And Buck Cherry and Tom Kiefer of Cinderella fame.. They are currently touring the country, and if you would like them to play your city, get on those socials, tell you’re venues, to get Gunshine, the hottest new band out there.!!
Their newest single is called Bayou. I really love it its a great song. It’s got that swampy feel. Hopefully it will be added to the new album.
There were 3 other bands that played before them With Gunshine headlining the night. It was a packed house and very hot that day. But Gunshine delivered a high octane stage show. They’re like a breath of fresh air. Like an 80s rock band but with a modern feel. There were a lot of hard core Gunshine fans in the audience. Wearing Gunshine t -shirts and singing the songs word for word. They were even fans scrambling to grab guitar pics and drumsticks that the band had thrown out into the audience. Tommy also delivered a great drum solo where at one time. He was drumming with only his hands. They engage with the audience and deliver a great show! They Kicked off the night with “Meet You There” and did several of my favorites like “Daylight” “90 Proof” “Swing Away “ “Feel Alright” and of course “Bayou” among many more. This is the band you have been waiting for and the wait is over. Razor sharp playing, delivering energetic shows with top level musicianship. These Guys are on the Fast Track to the Top! Check out pics from the Knoxville Tennessee show below. To keep up with them go to Gunshineband.com I Highly recommend them!
