INDEPENDENT ARTIST REMI GOODE RELEASES CAPTIVATING DEBUT ALBUM THINGS I’VE SAID BEFORE

Nashville, TN – Today, independent alt-folk artist Remi Goode shares her captivating debut album Things I’ve Said Before. The nine-song collection is a striking first statement from an emerging songwriter who balances intimacy with expansiveness, reflection with playfulness, and vulnerability with strength. Listen HERE.

“As someone who tends to think in black-and-white, I find myself writing about all the gray areas in my life—trying to find clarity in the confusing dynamics and misunderstandings that I need to sort out,” says Goode. “Things I’ve Said Before is about getting to the truth of where I stand in relation to myself and others. I wrote these songs over many years while I was still figuring out how to feel like a real songwriter, and learning that I loved to write about this type of truth-seeking really helped with that. With this album, I wanted to show that we can find peace in letting go and leaving some things unreconciled.”

The album’s opening track, “Don’t Drive Me Home,” captures the restless tension between love, regret, and the fear of missed chances. The track stands as one of the album’s most poignant moments, highlighting Goode’s ability to transform deeply personal memories into universal storytelling. Under The Radar said of the song, “Her finger-picked guitar and jazz-flecked vocal lines dance amidst swells of strings, honeyed vocal harmonies, and blissed-out percussion…the result is a lush and radiant effort, steeped in longing and bittersweet reflection.” Listen to “Don’t Drive Me Home” HERE.

“Right before I took the leap to be with the person I was meant to be with, I did a lot of hand-wringing and second-guessing,” shares Goode. “I wrote Don’t Drive Me Home about leaving love on the table, and how we ended our relationship before it even began. I wanted the outro to feel floaty and timeless to represent the regret I felt when my person was driving me home at the end of the night, and I didn’t want to be alone with the decision we’d made.”

Born in Tucson, AZ and now residing in Nashville, TN, Remi is a trained classical guitarist and a former member of the acclaimed Tucson Girls Chorus. Growing up, she listened to a range of musicians and songwriters who influenced her creative direction. Artists such as Suzanne Vega, Kathleen Edwards, and Sarah Harmer were inspirational to Remi for their music, as well as the way they evolved from their folk foundations and continuously pushed their art forward. If Things I’ve Said Before is any indication of Remi Goode’s creative future, we can expect a very high ceiling.
