“I’m so thankful to all the fans and everyone at country radio for embracing ‘High & Lows.’ This song was born from a true story. I was going to a group therapy class after my mom passed away and, my first time in the room, this guy stood up and said, ‘I get high all the time when I feel low, and I’ve done every drug from A to Z, but the Lord’s been good to me.’ I was stunned, and I asked him about his story after the meeting. When I came home that night, I wrote ‘Highs and Lows’ in an hour,” says Cooper.   Music journalists are also taking notice of the jaunty, mid-tempo, singalong story song that acknowledges life’s peaks and valleys while still celebrating the strength we can find in each other and in faith:
Billboard praised the song’s relatability and positivity, saying, “It’s a good bet that most people have felt the same way as one of the characters in the opening lines of Matt Cooper’s debut single.”   CountryLine recently declared Cooper “One to Watch,” noting “a fast-rising career that’s only gaining momentum.”  “Highs & Lows” has also been lauded by Taste of Country for how it “juxtaposes serious subject matter with a carefree acoustic bed track and an instantly hummable melody that sticks the chorus in your head from the first listen.”   Additionally, the “Highs & Lows” official performance video, directed by Sam Aldrich, debuted at No. 4 on Taste of Country  and The Boot’s “Top 10 Video Countdown,” holding the position for two straight weeks and spending three consecutive weeks in the countdown’s Top 10.  Written solely by Cooper and co-produced alongside Texas-born rising artist / producer Brooks Huntley, “Highs & Lows” has already surpassed 8 million streams, captivating listeners with its feel-good, folk-country soundscape and powerful message of hope and redemption  I been high and I been low I ain’t rich but I ain’t broke I’d pray I’d find someone to hold me together I was lost but I was found When my knees hit the ground And I laid all my troubles down Down forever    STREAM / LISTEN TO “Highs & Lows” HERE.  ABOUT MATT COOPER Matt Cooper is a genre-blending country artist whose fresh, compelling sound also features elements of Americana, roots-pop and faith-based music.
