NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Award-winning country and bluegrass group The Kody Norris Show is celebrating a major achievement with five wins at the 2026 SPBGMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year, Song of the Year (“The Auctioneer”), Band (Overall) of the Year, and more.
On Friday night during their performance, Kody Norris surprised Hayden “Jim” Hensley with the invitation to be the official banjo player and newest member of The Kody Norris Show:

‘We were so honored to be among the nominees for the 51st annual SPBGMA awards,” shares Kody. “The fans showed us so much love, and for that we are truly thankful. I’m still speechless. It was also an exciting weekend when we announced Jim as the newest member of The Kody Norris Show. Jim’s been touring with the group since Josiah’s departure last year. What started off as a summer gig before returning to school ended up turning into a full-time position playing banjo and singing! We are so proud of how far he has come in the last six months and cannot wait to see what’s in his future and for every one of you to meet him. You’re gonna love him!”

The group recently released the music video for their current single, “Waitress, Waitress,” from their latest album, ‘Highfalutin Hillbilly,’ on Rebel Records. Known for keeping fans on their toes, Kody Norris invited several of his musical friends to make cameo appearances in the video, including Trey Calloway, John Berry, T. Graham Brown, John Ford Coley, and Oak Ridge Boy William Lee Golden, and is excited to already be creating new music!

‘We are sure you’ve heard the news by now but we are recording TWO albums,” says Kody. “It’s been great being back in the studio. Our first single from the forthcoming album is set to release Feb 20th. We can’t wait to share that with you! We have also been working on a special collaboration album celebrating the 100th birthday of the King of Bluegrass, Jimmy Martin, featuring former Sunny Mountain Boys and friends from bluegrass and country. This is going to be a fun album! Between the new music and the ‘Spirit of America’ tour.. it’s shaping up to be a big year!”
