Nashville, TN (February 6, 2026) – Genre-blending singer-songwriter Amanda McCarthy has released her highly anticipated sophomore full-length album, ‘Looking For The Light,’ an 11-track collection that captures the highs, lows, humor, and healing of confronting the past and choosing growth. Produced in Nashville by Kristian Veech, the album marks a bold new chapter in McCarthy’s evolution as both a writer and artist.
Early reviews are raving about Amanda’s electric, next-level artistry:
“We’ve been following Amanda’s career for some time now, and it’s been incredible to watch her growth…not only as an artist, but as a person. Her music still carries that touch of angst we all crave, now delivered with a new level of sophistication. Looking For The Light is a genuine reflection of the remarkable artist Amanda McCarthy is today.”
-Music City Melodies
“The production is sharp and clean and the wit cuts deeper. It’s giving Wilson Phillips meets Taylor Swift in group therapy deciding laughter beats crying.”
–Laurelanne Media
“Amanda McCarthy’s ability to move effortlessly between genres makes her music a standout on any playlist, and Looking For The Light is no exception.”
-Nashville Socialite
Rooted in pop with country influence and a touch of edge, ‘Looking For The Light’ highlights McCarthy’s range and emotional depth. Nashville tones shine on “Vodka” and “Every Bar Downtown,” pop-punk energy drives “I’m Not Fine (But I’m Okay),” and quiet reflection defines the closing tracks “The Last Word” and “Waste of a Heartbreak.” Rich harmonies, poetic lyricism, and raw storytelling underscore an album that feels honest, grounded, and unmistakably hers.
“Looking For The Light encapsulates leaving the most triumphant era of your life to thrive, crash, burn, and thrive again in a new city while battling undiagnosed ADHD and years of unprocessed trauma,” McCarthy shares. “We are embracing the good, the bad, and the LOL WTF. We’re choosing forgiveness over anger, peace over revenge, and connection over alienation.”

About Amanda McCarthy:
Most people don’t plan to drop out of college, become a parent before 21, and move to a new city during a pandemic, but Amanda McCarthy has always faced the unexpected head-on. From coffee shops and smoky bars to iconic stages like The Bluebird Cafe, The Listening Room, Mercury Lounge, and Hard Rock Cafes nationwide, she has built a full-time career on fearless storytelling and relentless hustle.
After developing her early career in New England, McCarthy credits an unforgettable moment—singing an Aerosmith song directly to Steven Tyler in a local bar—as the catalyst that pushed her to move to Nashville. Less than a year after relocating, she had already made music her full-time career.
Blending the pop/rock edge of Michelle Branch with the country-but-not-country cadence of Kacey Musgraves and harmony-driven acoustic storytelling, McCarthy has shared stages with artists including Steven Tyler, Hunter Hayes, Train, Natasha Bedingfield, Hall & Oates, Imagine Dragons, Styx, Rob Thomas, and more. She has performed for NASCAR, delivered a nationally televised National Anthem on ESPN, earned Grammy ballot entries, and received numerous awards, including Singer/Songwriter of the Year at the New England Music Awards.
Her debut album, Road Trip (2019), was met with high acclaim, and her sophomore album Looking For The Light builds on that success with an 11-track collection that showcases her growth as an artist.
