Guitarist Mirko Di Bella states: “An energetic and optimistic track, but without added sugar: there’s brightness, yes, but also a strong rebellious attitude. Looking back, that mood comes largely from the Mixolydian mode on which Wild Wheels is built, the same one that shaped many hard rock classics, from Highway to Hell to Panama, just to name a couple. While I was composing it, though, I wasn’t doing any kind of guitar-nerd analysis: I simply followed my instincts and let the song show me the way, a road whose asphalt bears the glittering tire marks of Hot Rod’s car. The lyrics, written by Christian, complete the picture: a manifesto of freedom and self-determination that fully captures the spirit of the song”.

Hot Rod were formed in 2006. Their sound is an electrifying fusion of influences, spanning from the glittering 1980s – the Golden Age of the genre – to the raw edge of the 1990s. With two demos under their belt and a history of live performances across Italy and beyond, Hot Rod have become known for delivering explosive shows and an unapologetic attitude. 

“Harder Faster Glitter” is set for release on March 13, 2026.
