Prepare yourselves Columbus, Ohio, as Vanessa Carlton will be mesmerizing fans at the A&R Music Bar on Monday, November 9, at 7:00PM. Vanessa will be promoting her newest album, Liberman, which was released on October 23, on Dine Alone Records. This marks Vanessa’s fifth studio album; part of which was recorded in Box, England, at Real World Studios. The remainder of the album was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, and produced by Steve Osborne (England) and Adam Landry (Nashville).
Vanessa’s new sound is reflective of several life changes including her marriage to John McCauley (Deer Tick), moving to Nashville, and the birth of her daughter. Vanessa utilizes simple instrumentation, prolific lyrics, and heartfelt vocals to draw the listener into her world. Media praise from NYLON says, “Forgot the Vanessa Carlton you used to know.”
The title of Vanessa’s latest studio album was inspired by a colorful oil painting by her grandfather entitled Liberman. “The swirly colors of that painting reminded me of the music and the music reminds me of those colors,” she says.
In addition to the release of Liberman, Vanessa’s Blue Pool was released on July 24, 2015. It includes the songs “Take It Easy” and “Blue Pool,” as well as “Operator (Live Living Room Session)” and “Nothing Where Something Used To Be (Live Living Room Session).” The deluxe version of Liberman features the complete collection of Live Living Room Sessions.
Fans are now able to purchase standard or deluxe versions of Liberman on Vanessa’s Website
Vanessa will continue her multi-date tour by heading to Chicago after her stop in Columbus, Ohio. The 2015 dates conclude in Asheville, North Carolina. You may purchase tickets by clicking this link
