Charley Pride to celebrate 25th year as Opry member

e6851a2e-96cd-4b63-b27b-5d3bd5e68422Charley Pride- Country Music Hall of Fame member and Recording Academy “Lifetime Achievement Award” recipient. The Opry member will be making two appearances May 4th and May 5th on the Opry stage and will proudly celebrate 25 years as an Opry member.

As part of the celebration, Opry flagship station 650 AM WSM (wsmonline.com) plans to salute the award-winning artist with a “Country Pride Weekend”, spinning Pride’s 50-plus Top 10 singles, playing signature Pride archived programs, and taking listener requests for the Country Music Hall of Famer’s all-time favorites.
Upon his Opry induction 25 years ago, Pride recalled his initial dream of baseball stardom. “It’s as if I had made it in baseball and they came up to me and took me to Cooperstown and said, ‘This is where your plaque is going to be – beside Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jackie Robinson, and Hank Aaron.”

Charley Pride also recently announced he’ll be performing at the 2018 CMA Fest, on Friday, June 8 at 8:00 pm at Nissan Stadium. Pride will be sharing the stage that evening with a host of other modern country staples like Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, and Old Dominion.
