Ashley McBryde is the newest hottest rising star in country music! She hit country music airwaves with her debut single “A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega”. Having put in the work and being dedicated to making her dreams become more than a fading memory she has all eyes on her now as she is taking Nashville by storm. A sound Nashville hasn’t heard in some time. A pure country female artist. Country music has made many changes in its long span in history and I think another curve is upon us!
Ashley was once told by her school teacher in Algebra that she should throw away the dream of being a thriving songwriter in Nashville and pursue a dream more tangible. Let us speak for the world when I saw THANK YOU for not following a suggestion that would prove misguided.
Earlier this year Eric Church brought Ashley McBryde on stage and confessed he is a massive fan and even called her a “Whiskey drinking badass”. That’s saying something coming from Eric. After moving to Nashville in 2007 McBryde released her first EP in 2016. Following up she released “Girl Going Nowhere” which has put the Arkansas native on the map. Her current single off the album “A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega is currently 34th on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart.
“It feels incredible to have this album out in the world,” says McBryde who collaborated with producer Jay Joyce on the 11-song album. “It may not seem like it, but I’ve always been a shy person, so to hear stories of how other folks relate to these stories, these lyrics and our songs reaffirms this unconventional path we took creating and releasing it.”
- Girl Goin’ Nowhere
- American Scandal
- Southern Babylon
- The Jacket
- Livin’ Next to Leroy
- A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega
- Andy ( I Can’t Live Without You)
- El Dorado
- Tired of Being Happy
- Home Sweet Highway
9 of the 11 tracks on the album Ashley wrote or co-wrote herself. Pretty impressive for a rising star and a country music singer to have the talent to write lyrics that hit you where it counts. That’s why her debut single “A Little Dive Bar in Dehlonega” has become an overnight success. She has the voice and style that connects with the 90’s style of country mixed with a style of her own that blends perfectly. I cannot quite compare her to another artist then or now, it’s something new and raw. something much needed. Fancy bars and desk jobs aren’t what’s to be found when diving into the lyrics on this track. McBryde gives the working class, the bust your back for a dollar, broken hearts but not broken souls a respectful nod all though out this album.
