“It’s Christmas Time, It’s Christmas Time”! We are decking the halls and bringing fans an inside look at some of their favorite artist’s Christmas. Okay we have a special guest! He’s an accomplished musician and songwriter. Known for his solo work as well as Adelitas Way and RapScallions: non other than Chris Clemence.
Ryan: Christmas is a time for joy and happiness to spend with friends and family. How do you plan to spend your Christmas this year?
Chris: I’m excited to celebrate it with my family in New York this year! I have a show at Madison Square Garden on December 18th. My entire fam is going to come which will be a lot of fun. Then eggnog by the fire!
What are your favorite festivities surrounding Christmas?
It’s always fun to hit a few Christmas parties and bust out the ugly sweater. I mainly love just getting to hang with my friends and family.
Let’s settle the debate: when should someone put up their christmas tree?
Definitely not before Turkey day. Any sooner is jumping the gun.
What is the best gift you’ve received for Christmas?
To this day the best gift I ever received was from my Grandpa and Grandma as a kid. It was an acoustic guitar. It changed my life. Definitely got me into playing, and was one of those gifts that shaped who I am today.

What song(s) get you in the Christmas spirit?
“White Christmas” by Bing Crosby is a classic.
Would you consider creating a Christmas album? If so, what songs would you include, or would they be originals?
It would definitely be fun to make a Christmas album, and rock the songs out a bit. Definitely would have to make a few originals on there as well.
Rank your top favorite Christmas themed movies
I just watched one called “Krampus”, that one was pretty rad! “Bad Santa” and “Elf” are also favorites and of course the kid in me will always love “Home Alone”.
Does your family have any Christmas traditions that are unique?
Usually we like to take a trip somewhere. It’s always fun to celebrate Christmas in a different part of the world and experience their culture and their spin on the holiday.
With Christmas comes cold weather and snow. Do you like enjoy the cold weather? Snow?
Not in LA it doesn’t haha. I can deal with about a week of snow. Any more and I start turning into Jack Torrance from the Shining.
Did you build a snowman when it were a kid?
Hell yeah! I’m stoked to build one again with my daughter this year. Hoping it snows in NYC!
Music Matters Magazine thanks Chris for his time and if your in New York check out his show December 18th at the Garden! Chris is also on Twitter at @chrisclemenceoffical
