Monsters on The Mountain Three Day Rock Festival.
The Very first Monsters on The Mountain Rock Festival Happened October 15,16,17 2021 In Beautiful Pigeon Forge Tennessee. Brought to you by the people who put on The Monsters Of Rock Cruise every year. As soon as it was Announced the Excitement began. It wasn’t long before artists were starting to be announced. The Excitement Grew and Grew, Then Finally after months the wait was over. It was Festival weekend ! But first up was a Preparty at the local Hard Rock Cafe Thursday Night. Friday The Festival began. Rockers came from all over the United States. Hosting the Event was THE Eddie Trunk , Don Jamieson, Jim Florentine.( That Metal Show / Eddie Trunk show). The Tailgate Area Opened Early. First up in the Rock Arena Kicking off The Festival was Native Sons. Lead Singer Ashton Blake They Held nothing back and kicked off the Festival in style. They Rocked! They had a guest Guitarist from Nashville with them for this show. Max Frye. It was a great High Energy Set! Mark Evans and His Band Heavens Edge was up next. They did a Great job keeping it Rocking . He was all over the stage and the fans loved Them! Having never seen them live before I was very pleased and loved them. Then Up next was Germany based band Kingdom Come. Headed by Keith St. John( Montrose/ Lynch Mob among others). Did a wonderful Rocking set .Next Up was Kix band. Front Man Steve Whiteman always has so much energy and bouncing all over the stage. Jumping high in the air. Cutting up putting the microphone down his pants at one point. Sounding as great as ever. Always a very fun and High Energy set. A Fan Favorite for sure as they all loved them!
Next came Night Ranger. They Blew the Roof off the place and proved “ You Can Still Rock In America”! Doing all the hits Jack Blades, Keri Kelli, and Brad Gillis were all over the stage Rocking hard. Drummer Kelly Keagy came out from behind the drums to sing the smash hit “Sister Christian”. At one point in their set they all surrounded Kelly drum kit and taking drum sticks and all beat the drums. Up Next was Vince Neil ( Motley Crue front man) solo band. Comprised of Dana Strum/Jeff Blando / Zoltan Chaney. Lots of smoke filled the arena stage area and Vince and the guys hit the stage. Vince looked happy and seemed to be having a blast smiling . But early in his set singing the Motley crue song “ Don’t Go Away Mad” Vince walked over to the darker side of the stage. He was Clapping and had his guitar slung on his back. Then he fell off the stage onto the floor. A Few minutes passed (and for those who didn’t know what had happened) Dana Strum announced to the crowd “ The truth is Vince fell and broke ribs when he fell . He cant breath and is gonna get dealt with medically. he was so excited to be here. He lives in Tennessee, But he was willing to stick it out and tough it out when the people in the back here were telling him don’t do it. Lets have one good round of applause please for this guy” The band finished the set with Jeff Blando singing. Drummer Zoltan Chaney ( always a show within a show) was standing on the drums, knocking the symbols over he was playing so hard. Just amazing to watch him. All in all it was a Great first day of the festival ( Minus Vince getting hurt of course). look for articles on Day 2/3 coming soon.
