STAIND, formed in 1995, has used their talents to pioneer and revolutionize the rock industry (for the better) since debuting. Now, in 2023 they return to the new release charts with their album “Confessions of the Fallen” released this week. STAIND has stood the test of time with continuously touring, and now with bringing fans new music. Their first album since 2011 (Self titled album).

Time hasn’t affected the sound, the style and the deep, dark, nu-metal sound that is defining to their identity. “Confessions of the Fallen” is a continuation of their iconic career banding together for 28 years and counting. Being their first album in over a decade one would think something would be out of place, usually that’s the case when a band takes a recess for extended periods of time; Aaron Lewis and company are defining those odds and bringing an album that is unfaulting, provoking, and a roller coaster of emotions from start to finish.
Aaron’s gravelly, low and distinctive vocals start “Lowest In Me”, a tune that easily connects with past STAIND tunes. “Was Any of it Real?” brings a more electronic beat compared to most tracks giving a unique feel to what’s to come. What made me become a huge fan of STAIND was classic hits such as “So Far Away”, “It’s Been Awhile”, “Something to Remind You”. Because of that, these new hits like “Lowest in Me”, “Here and Now”, and Better Days” was on repeat automatically.
“Cycle of Hurting” packs a heavy punch as it seems to be the hardest hitting tune on the album featuring Mike Mushok’s intense screaming vocals through out the track. “Confessions of the Fallen” wraps up the album with Aarons strong intensity portraying anger and fierce angst lyrically.
Confessions of the Fallen Track Listing:
1 – Lowest In Me
2 – Was Any of it Real?
3 – Here and Now

STAIND has yet again created an album to appeal to fans of all levels of rock music. In my opinion this project is a fantastic album that continues the top tier level of music and success that STAIND has achieved there close to 3 decades of existence.

Staind
Multi-platinum legendary rock act Staind is back with their first record in twelve years — and it’s their most personal album yet.
Confessions Of The Fallen, the band’s eighth studio album, showcases the band conquering territory both familiar and fresh. Produced by Erik Ron (Bad Omens, Godsmack, Dance Gavin Dance) and led by the powerful vocals of the band’s frontman, Aaron Lewis, the record captures the raw essence and emotionally intense themes the band is known for while bringing their sound up to date.
“You can certainly recognize the band,” says guitarist Mike Mushok, “but at the same time, you can hear that we’ve been paying attention and understand what kind of sounds and approaches we can use that maybe weren’t around the last time we did this.” A mainstay in the hard rock space, Staind was catapulted into the mainstream with hits like “It’s Been a While,” “Fade,” “Epiphany”, and “For You” off of their 2001 record Break The Cycle. Nearly three decades into their career, Staind is as ready as ever to reinvigorate fans with their dynamic new record.
