Cody Mccarver , Singer/ Songwriter, actor, Cody was born and raised in Dunlap Tennessee and is one busy guy.
Cody really has done it all. Like most artist Cody started out singing in church and became a piano player before the age of 10! Cody Got his first music start with Lynn Anderson playing bass.
later in life Cody would go onto to join super country group Confederate Railroad. Cody was with them over a decade. He was a very popular member of the band. He was their Keyboard player taking over for Confederate Railroads original keyboardist Chris McDaniel.
Cody left the band to pursue a solo career. He has shared stages with lots of legendary singers along the way.
Like Charlie Daniels, David Allan Coe, Merle Haggard just to name a few. Codys solo career shot up and his solo music topped the charts. He has had guest artist appear on his albums by some wonderful artist like Colt Ford, Richard Sterban of The Oak Ridge Boys and John Anderson helped sing Old Rugged Cross on his Blessings album. Codys music has been featured in several motion pictures. Why Cody himself has acted in several western films.
The imprisonment and death of his father took its toll on him and his life spiraled out of control and he was in a dark place and so Cody made a change. He went back to where he started. He went back to church, back to where it all began but he says “God never left me he was with me the entire time”
Cody shares his story everywhere he can and to everyone who will listen.
He has released two country albums, and several Christian/gospel albums. Rise up is a wonderful song. His single Run and Hide was featured in a motion picture . I have liked everything I’ve heard from Cody. From his rowdy song “White Trash With Money” to his Emotion filled Gospel songs. They are all wonderful and heartfelt. “Hey God” is a Wonderful song!
Cody made friends with singer/actor John Schneider ( Dukes of Hazzard fame) and plays with John band sometimes. They have a duet song called “ These Hands” .
Cody also starred alongside John Schneider in the Movie Stand on it ( a nod of the Movie Smokey and the bandit where Cody plays Trucker “Roy” which would be Jerry Reeds character). He also starred in the movie Poker Run. Both available on Dvd!
Cody has done a reality Tv show called Small Town America Tv. filmed in Dunlap Tennessee. Coming soon season 2! Cody says Its not just revitalizing a building but a town. You can stream and watch on Roku and Tube. So be sure to tune in!
They are having The Small Town America Festival which runs from September 12-14, 2025 in Dunlap Tennessee. Confederate Railroad will perform! They Will play September 13th. I Met Cody and saw him play recently when he did an acoustic show opening for Montgomery Gentry- Featuring Eddie Montgomery in Pigeon Forge Tennessee at the Country Tonight Theater. It was a wonderful set and he had the crowd hanging on every word and at one point they lit up the theater with their phones which was a beautiful site. (See a few photos below from the show).
