Whey Jennings Puts on an Amazing Show In Maryville Tennessee!

Whey Jennings is a singer-songwriter born into one of country music’s most iconic family. He is the grandson of Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter. He is a naturally gifted singer with a big baritone voice . He sure sounds a lot like his grandpa Waylon too. Especially when he is singing Waylon’s songs. Whey is one of the few remaining country traditionalists but wants to make his own way in the music world. He has released three studio EP’s “Gypsy Soul” , “If it Wasn’t for sinnin”. and “Just Before the Dawn”. He Released his first full length highly anticipated album called Jekyll & Hyde in 2024. Alot of his songs tell the story of his struggles with addiction, his redemption and sobriety. Whey made his way back to The Shed Smokehouse and Juke Joint In Maryville Tennessee recently. He delivered a Rousing show for the final weekend of Bike week . It was an Early 7pm show but Fans of all ages came to see Whey’s show at The Shed. Whey Took to the stage wearing his Big Black cowboy hat to the cheers of the crowd. This was his second time playing The Shed too (so glad they had him back.) He did a combination of His Music and His Grandpa Waylon music. The Crowd singing along . He did several of his songs off the New Album Jekyll & Hyde, like 10 Day Run, Hotter In Texas, my personal favorite and the title of the album “Jekyll & Hyde” ( The Video is Great too!), He also sang his song Hallelujah and had everyone in the crowd singing along and swaying their arms in the air it was wonderful! That’s just a few of his songs he performed. Its a great album I highly recommend you get it. He also did several of his grandpa Waylon songs including “ I’ve Always been crazy, Only Daddy that’ll Walk the Line, Are You Sure Hank Done it This Away, Luckenbach Texas, and the theme song to the Dukes of Hazzard tv show ( Good Ol boys) plus much more. You sure can tell he loves his grandpa Waylon. Now Whey also announced his uncle Shooter Jennings ( Waylon & Jessi Son) had unearthed never before heard Waylon songs and Shooter had compiled and released the songs on an album by Waylon called Songbirds! And it was supposed to be released the day of the Shed show! ( October 3rd) . Shooter also had Sirius XM Radio Outlaw Country do a special Waylon takeover that weekend too! I listened on the way home . It was Great! So look for the “Songbird” album by Waylon too.
Whey also took a break and let his guitarist sing a song by Charlie Daniels called Long Haired Country Boy! That was fun! Whey Even did some Lynyrd Skynyrd too. It was an Amazing night ! The crowd was dancing and singing along and Whey was dancing on stage everyone was having a great time. At the end of the night Whey Told the audience he wanted to meet them after the show so he kept his word and met everyone at the merch table and boy was that line long! So go see Whey if you get a chance you are guaranteed a great time! To Keep up with his schedule go to http://www.wheyjennings.com Be sure to check out the photos from the Shed Show below.
