From The Voice Competitors to Duet Partners:Jacquie Roar and Stee Release “Lie with You”

Nashville, TN (September 1, 2026) — What began on the battle stage of The Voice has come full circle for Jacquie Roar and fellow contestant Stee. Once competitors, the two now join forces as duet partners on their sultry new single, Lie with You,” available on all streaming platforms.

Rather than casting infidelity in black-and-white terms, “Lie with You” explores the complicated space between desire and restraint; the undeniable chemistry, fleeting fantasy and inner conflict that comes with wanting something you know you shouldn’t.

“This song is about walking the line of temptation and doing what you know is wrong because it feels good in the moment,” says Roar. “Cheating is bad, by the way… but I wanted to write about it from a different scope. The more taboo side of it.”

With lyrics like “Baby, be my lover / You’re not like the others / I’m addicted to the way you move,” “Lie with You” leans fully into its seductive edge, capturing the intoxicating pull of forbidden attraction without passing judgment on those caught up in it.

For Roar and Stee, the collaboration is also a full-circle moment rooted in a friendship that began during their time on The Voice.

“It’s funny how being chosen out of thousands of people to be part of a reality singing competition, becoming friends almost immediately after we were cast, and then staying in touch religiously after the show’s finale could eventually lead us to a collaboration,” says Roar. “From The Voice to the radio waves, here we go!”

Roar debuted “Lie with You” Monday night in Nashville during the Song Suffragettes showcase at the iconic The Listening Room, giving the audience an early taste of the new collaboration. She closed out the evening with a powerful rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” moving the crowd to tears and showcasing the vocal strength and emotional depth that have continued to define her artistry.

Written by Jacquie Roar, Christian Pond, Jesse Slack, Jason Mater, Steve Fee and Jordan Gray, “Lie with You” marks another step forward for Roar as she continues to push boundaries, explore new creative territory and establish herself as one of country music’s most compelling emerging voices.
