Gov’t Mule played to a packed house at the Rose Music Center on Saturday night! The band is led by Warren Haynes (vocals/guitar) with the accompaniment of Matt Abts (drums) Jorgen Carlsson (bass) and Danny Louis (keyboards/guitar). As the headliners took the stage, there were very few empty seats in the house. Many drinks and good times were had by the exuberant and rowdy crowd.
The stage lighting was very elaborate and set the mood as Haynes meticulously played one extensive guitar solo after another. The setlist featured many Gov’t Mule originals as well as covers of Steppenwolf, Son House, The Doors and Memphis Slim. Fans in the lower sections remained standing throughout the night while some scattered fans in the balcony chose to stand and let loose as they danced the night away. The band would close out the night with covers of Tom Waits and Hound Dog Taylor classics as they were joined on stage by Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke.
