Formed in 1972, iconic rockers, Styx has been touring the world since. With 16 studio albums released in 5 decades these guys are dedicated to their fans, and have a passion for music that will never die.
They have created some of the greatest rock music of all time and they still sound as fantastic as they did in 1972 when first stepping out on the stage for the first time with a dream and a few songs in their pockets. “Come Sail Away”, “The Grand Illusion”, “Miss America”, “Too Much Time On My Hands”, and my absolute personal favorite- “Renegade”.
“Renegade” was released in 1978, and myself at 26, find it regularly on my playlist where ever I’m at. This song like many others are timeless and are memorable millions of people at all ages.
I have had the privilege of seeing these guys twice in 2015 and 2016 and WOW! I was blown away at how their live performance is. They have no stone unturned and never miss a beat. True rock stars to the core. Styx is a house hold name with a kick ass style and that’s what fans love about they’re music. They can go hard and then they can go soft, and if they want they can mix it up in the blink of an eye.
Styx is made up of:
James “JY” Young Lead vocals, guitars
Tommy Shaw Lead vocals, guitars
Chuck Panozzo Bass, vocals
Todd Sucherman Drums, percussion
Lawrence Gowan Lead vocals, keyboards
Ricky Phillips Bass, guitar, vocals
