Michael Martin Murphey Plays Knoxville Tennessee

Legendary Texan Michael Martin Murphey, known as the singing cowboy played an accoustic show at The Open Chord All Things Music venue.

Opening the Show was Knoxville Musician Taylor Corum. He did an accoustic set and a wonderful job opening the show to a packed house.DSC_7273

Before Michael took to the stage his manager brought to the stage an accoustic guitar that had the words to his famous song “Wildfire” hand written on the guitar and it would be auctioned off at the end of the night. Michael has Murphey Western Institute a center of education preservation and perpetuation of the arts, culture, history and legacy of the american west. His latest CD is “Austinology : Alleys Of Austin” That was released on 10/19/2018.
Special guests on the CD include Willie Nelson, Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett, Kelly Willis, Bruce Robinson, Amy Grant, Randy Rogers.

Michael plays and sounds better than ever. Taking The Stage in his Cowboy attire and he had the crowd singing along , laughing at his jokes n stories he told in between songs.
He sang some of his popular songs including “ Carolina in the Pines” ,
“ Whats Forever For” and of course when he sang his MOST popular song “ Wildfire” which sounded Amazing live ! The crowd gave him a standing ovation and cheered and clapped after the song. The Song “Wildfire” according to Michael , Came to him in a dream. He dosent know what it means exactly, but we sure do love that it did and we love the song!
