There was a small but very dedicated crowd at the Vanguard for the Sponge show. Graduation weekend combined with rainy weather held back all but the die hard fans of this Detroit-based alternative, sometimes punky rock band.

Virginia Beach-based favorites, Everafter, opened the show up with a powerful mix from this small but versatile trio, starting with an instrumental selection from Pink Floyd.
