Monsters on The Mountain Day One !
The Much Anticipated Monsters On The Mountain Three Day Rock Festival Returned to Tennessee August 19-21, 2022. This Time it was in Gatlinburg Tennessee. People from all over the United States made the Trek to the beautiful Hills of Tennessee and arrived in the small town of Gatlinburg Tennessee. This year’s venue included two main stages on the ground floor, an upper smaller intimate stage on the second floor and also an outside patio stage! Outside they had a woodcarver. The Night before they had a small pre-party on the patio with John Corabi and others. Day One Kicked off Early with Tango Down! The Rock just kept rolling with Bad Marriage who put on a great show. Having never seen them before I really enjoyed their high energy set. They also had Ritchie Kotzen, Lillian Axe, Kip Winger did an acoustic set , The Band Autograph Turned it up! and had a very fun set featuring new bass player Steve Unger formerly of Metal Church who was taking the place of former Member Randy Rand who suddenly passed away. Simon and the guys gave the band a whole new energy and I really enjoyed their set. Quiet Riot was another fun and high energy show and It was Great seeing Rudy Sarzo back and he was all smiles and Rocking out all over that stage to the roaring crowd. Jizzy Pearl took over on vocals and did a great job keeping the Quiet Riot music alive. Guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen came to Rock and Rock he did ! Extreme Put on an Excellent show! singer Gary Cherone was all over that stage! I don’t think he stood still for a minute! Jumping and climbing on amps. The crowd really loved them and I did too! Tom Keifer of Cinderella Fame rounded out the the main stage shows singing some off of his new album Rise and of course your favorite Cinderella songs! Tom and the band ALWAYS gives the fans one hundred percent! Ending the night was a Van Halen Tribute act called Nerd Halen. You guessed right if you picture the guys dressed as nerds. and they Rocked all your Van Halen favorites! Thats it Day one was one for the books! Excellent job by all bands .
