12 Days of Christmas Tune’s Day #7 Joe Nichols “Old Toy Trains”

On the seventh day of Christmas rolls in Joe Nichols with “Old Toy Trains” off his 2004 A Traditional Christmas album. Joe Nichols is a country artist that has not been affected by the changes in country music and staying true to his roots. Joe, 46, from Arkansas has been a traditionalist and torch bearer of country music since his debut.

Old Toy Trains” originally performed by Roger Miller in ‘67 is a simple lyric tune but draws you into the story of Santa bringing toys and a little boy so excited he can’t bear the thought of sleeping and missing out on seeing the man in red.

I can listen to this song on repeat, because I already do. Give it a listen below, do some decorating and if you have young kids this tune will be Christmas Eve night for you!

“Bringing old toy trains, and little toy tracks
Little toy drums, coming from a sack
Carried by a man dressed in white and red
Little boy don’t you think it’s time you were in bed”
