Legendary Canadian Guitarist Pat Travers Made his way back to Tennessee . This was his third Time Playing The Open Chord All Things Music Venue in Knoxville Tennessee. Open Chord is An excellent venue with stellar Lights and Sound. We were So Glad to have Pat and The Band Back!
The Fans Arrived Early lining up outside the venue . I spoke with a few while waiting in line. Some were diehard longtime fans and they had albums and other things in hopes to get to meet him and get them autographed. There were some fans that were new to the Open Chord and it was their first time there and their first time getting to see Pat play live so they were very excited to say the least. It didn’t take long for the venue to get packed and the excitement to begin.
The Pat Travers Band , Pat On Vocals and guitar, David Pastorius, on bass guitar (who just happens to be the nephew of Jaco Pastorius the famous jazz bassist,) and Alex Petrosky on drums. Pat takes to the stage announcing “Hi I’m Pat Travers and This is my band and were here to kick your Ass!” Then they get to rocking. Pat With His Hair Flying . David was making that bass “sing” and Alex was beating those drums so hard and fast he was continually having to grab and move the drums back to him and at one point had to tape them up! The Band was Really on fire that night and the fans were screaming with excitement and joy!
Pat and The Guys did all the favorites, Crash and Burn, Born Under a Bad Sign, Racing the Storm, I’ve Got News For You, Ronnie ( that one for Ronnie Montrose) Let The Good Times Roll, He got the crowd to sing along to Boom Boom Out Go The Lights, and of course he did his most famous song Snortin Whiskey Drinking Cocaine to the cheering crowd.!
It was a Great Time Had By all! Definitely go see Pat and the guys when they come your way they will Rock your socks off!
Opening the night was a new up and coming band called Virginia Sweet. They are a combination of Hard Rock Classic Rock and a little southern Rock mixed in. They Formed in 2020 with Jason Dove (Vocals) / Jason Jump (Guitar )/ and Ricky Parker (Drums.). Virginia Sweet Band providing dynamic vocals, Roaring Guitars and Pounding drums. Mostly playing originals but they ended the night with the Classic Marshall Tucker song ( Which happens to be my favorite Marshall Tucker song) Cant you See. They Definitely had the crowd warmed up for Pat Travers band.
