NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Award-winning country and bluegrass group The Kody Norris Show is celebrating a major achievement with six nominations for the 2026 SPBGMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year, Instrumental Group of the Year, Band (Overall) of the Year, and more. The band is no stranger to SPBGMA success, having swept multiple honors in 2025, including Entertainer of the Year, Instrumental Group of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Band (Overall) of the Year, among others. The 2026 SPBGMA Awards will take place on Saturday, January 24, at the Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.

The group recently released the music video for their current single, “Waitress, Waitress,” from their latest album, ‘Highfalutin Hillbilly,’ on Rebel Records. Known for keeping fans on their toes, Kody Norris invited several of his musical friends to make cameo appearances in the video, including Trey Calloway, John Berry, T. Graham Brown, John Ford Coley, and Oak Ridge Boy William Lee Golden, and is excited to already be creating new music.
“It’s been so nice being back in the studio working on not only one album, but TWO,” shares Kody. “One of which will be released very soon, and we can’t wait to share more about it in the near future. The other is a collaboration album to celebrate the 100th Birthday of the King of Bluegrass, Jimmy Martin! This album has been in the works for quite some time and will feature many former Sunny Mountain Boys and several of our friends in bluegrass and country music! It’s going to be a BIG year!”
