SOUTHALL TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM KINFOLK ON MAY 1

PRE-ORDER/PRE-SAVE HERE

SET FOR BUSY SUMMER ON THE SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY TOUR
WITH THE BLACK CROWES & WHISKEY MYERS

NASHVILLE, TENN. (April 20, 2026) — Today, PLATINUM Country-Rock standouts Southall announce the release of their brand-new album Kinfolk, on May 1. Pre-order/pre-save here.

Representing the culmination of the band’s journey so far, the project reflects their intense level of commitment to the music, above all – from the meticulous songcraft and arresting storytelling to the impressive instrumentation and particularly fiery fretwork. Over the past decade, they have quietly worked towards making a strong sonic statement, intimate in its emotionality, yet epic in its rafter-reaching execution.

Honing their vision, Southall recorded Kinfolk with GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer Wes Sharon (John Fullbright, Turnpike Troubadours). Founder, singer, guitarist, and band namesake Read Southall shaped the album to be rooted in old school Country and revved up by Rock ‘n’ Roll energy. Playing out like the perfect soundtrack to a cross-country road trip, thematically, it explores topics such as family, legacy, loss, and love – all under an Oklahoma sun.

Read shared about the album, “When people are ‘kin’ to you, they’re ‘kin’ for life. It’s an ‘all for one and one for all’ mentality. We’re in this together with anybody who listens to us or comes to a show. When we play live, I often say, ‘Don’t take yourself too seriously, and we won’t either.’ We’re Kinfolk after all.”

They paved the way for Kinfolk with the buzzing “Freight Train” and the incendiary and infectious “Burning Bridges.” Upon arrival, Raised Rowdy raved, “The atmosphere of the track really stands out, creating a mood that feels a little heavier and more introspective than some of their other work.” Plus, it has generated hundreds of thousands of streams.

Southall is charging into a milestone year. The band first joins co-headliners ZZ Top and Dwight Yoakam for a run of dates this spring before stepping onto even bigger stages this summer on the SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY TOUR alongside The Black Crowes and Whiskey Myers. The latter marks the most expansive tour of their career, putting Southall in front of their largest crowds to date, including a stop at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on May 21. See the full list of tour dates below. Purchase tickets here.

Meanwhile, Southall was recently named Texas Roadhouse’s Artist of the Month for March, with their music spotlighted across the brand’s 700+ restaurant locations nationwide. Past artists featured in the program include Kenny ChesneyKacey MusgravesJustin Moore, and Kelsea Ballerini.

Altogether boasting 785 MILLION career streams, Southall has spent the last decade building a rabid grassroots following — headlining shows nationwide while steadily leveling up tour slots with acts like Treaty Oak RevivalThe Black Crowes, and Whiskey Myers.  TRACKLIST FOR KINFOLK:1. “Burning Bridges” (Reid Barber)

ABOUT SOUTHALL:
PLATINUM-certified Country-Rock outfit Southall unite dyed-in-the-wool Country, nineties grunge, timeless Soul, and Americana into a striking signature sound, while they unify fans from the stage. Founded by singer, guitarist, and songwriter Read Southall, the Oklahoma-bred band introduced the masses to a boundary-breaking brew of Country and Rock with Six String Sorrow in 2015. Their vision further crystallized on 2017’s Borrowed Time, which yielded the PLATINUM-selling staple “Why.” They continued to captivate listeners with For The Birds [2021] and Southall [2023], bringing their total streams to nearly 785 MILLION. Celebrating a decade since their debut, The Six String Sorrow Sessions [2025] notably saw the six-piece re-record fan favorites from Six String Sorrow accompanied by everyone from Koe Wetzel and John Jeffers of Whiskey Myers to Hudson Westbrook. Road dogs through and through, they’re the rare collective who are just as comfortable bringing down the house at the Grand Ole Opry as they are sharing stages in arenas and amphitheaters alongside Whiskey Myers, The Black Crowes, ZZ Top, and Dwight Yoakam. Moreover, they’ve incited critical applause from PeopleThe OklahomanWhiskey Riff, and Rolling Stone. Now, they churn out their fifth full-length LP, Kinfolk (Smoklahoma Records), produced by GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer Wes Sharon (John Fullbright, Turnpike Troubadours).
