NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Today, cowboy troubadour and North Carolina native, Dalton Davis, releases his new single titled “Blue” via MCA / Republic Records. Listen to “Blue” HERE.
“‘Blue’ is about the music and roots of what we do in country music. It’s not just sadness, it’s everything feeling heavier, quieter, and somehow frozen in time,” says Dalton Davis. “I wanted this song to feel like you’re stuck in a moment you can’t quite move on from. ‘Blue’ is a true country cryin’ song.”
Driven by vivid imagery and a slow-burning melody, “Blue” captures the stillness and solitude that follow heartbreak. From waking up to a world that feels unchanged yet completely different, to watching memories replay in slow motion, Dalton leans into raw emotion with striking honesty. Anchored by the refrain “It’s a blue feelin’, watchin’ you leavin’, deep as the ocean, all in slow motion,” the song paints a powerful portrait of longing and the struggle to move forward.
Following a breakout year, Dalton continues to build momentum with releases that highlight his signature blend of grit, vulnerability, and storytelling. Most recently, he released “Redneck and You Know It,” a high-energy anthem celebrating his roots and the culture that shaped him.
Earlier this year, Dalton was featured on Landman (Songs From and Inspired By The Paramount+ Original Series) (Volume II) Soundtrack. His song “Fireproof” was co-written by the series star Billy Bob Thornton along with Ronnie Bowman (Kenny Chesney, Lee Ann Womack) and Mark Collie (Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw). Listen to “Fireproof” HERE.
Last year, Dalton announced his signing to MCA / Republic Records and released the track “Cows In The Front Yard,” further establishing himself as a compelling new voice in country music.
