AUGUST 6, 2026 (Los Angeles, California) – “It’s highlighting that scary and exciting part of letting your guard down,” says Los Angeles-based alt-rock singer/songwriter V Torres about her captivating new single, “That Night.” The latest release from her forthcoming sophomore album Woman (out independently on September 1, 2026), the new single depicts that precarious decision whether to push a friendship further. “This song is about the possibilities of a new adventure and allowing yourself to be open to vulnerability, painting a picture of the moment when you go from being friends with someone to falling for them and seeing them in a completely different way.

Built around shimmering guitars, sweeping melodies, and Torres’ unmistakably expressive vocals, “That Night” captures the exhilarating uncertainty of standing on the edge of something life-changing. Rather than focusing on the outcome, the song finds beauty in possibility—that suspended moment before the answer arrives, when hope, fear, excitement, and vulnerability all exist at once. Born and raised in the coastal suburbs of Southern California, V Torres grew up immersed in her parents’ eclectic record collection, discovering inspiration in artists ranging from Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Hank Williams Jr., Joni Mitchell, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and Earth, Wind & Fire. After performing original songs at local open mics, she went on to play legendary Los Angeles venues including The Roxy Theatre and The Viper Room with her first band, Gorgeous Got a Gun.
