| Country Singer-Songwriter John PayCheck Sets His Sights On Move To Texas With New Single “Texan One Day,” From Forthcoming Third Studio Album Better Plan, Arriving November 27 |

| NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 08, 2026) — Country singer-songwriter and recording artist John PayCheck is making his intentions clear: he’s going to be a Texan one day. The traditional country artist celebrates his affection for the Lone Star State on “Texan One Day,” [Pre-Save/Pre-Add] the latest single available everywhere digitally on October 09. It’s the fourth teaser track from his forthcoming third studio album, Better Plan, arriving November 27 via HorseBite Entertainment. “Texan One Day” is a good-natured, fiddle-and-steel-tinged country celebration of everything John PayCheck loves about Texas, from the Rio Grande to Galveston Bay, cowboy hats and boots, springtime bluebonnets and, naturally, the cowgirls who know how to ride. With its infectious chorus and unmistakable Lone Star pride, the song finds PayCheck dreaming of the day he can put down roots in Texas and call the state home. “With my pending move to Texas, this song was just a natural fit,” said PayCheck. “I had started writing as a funny answer to Lyle Lovett’s song “That’s Right (You’re Not From Texas),” because I have always been a fan of his, and thought this fun response would be interesting. Now this song took a different turn when I actually figured out we were headed to the great state of Texas.” The self-written song is delivered with PayCheck’s straightforward, traditional-country sensibility, and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Instead, it captures the appeal of Texas through a series of familiar images and observations before building to its ultimate declaration: once you’ve experienced Texas, the state has a way of calling you back. “Texan One Day” follows three previously released tracks from Better Plan, each offering a different glimpse into the album and PayCheck’s musical perspective. The album’s title track, “Better Plan,” [Stream/Download] arrived August 14 as a fiddle-driven country rocker centered on humility, self-reflection, resilience and personal growth. The song finds PayCheck embracing the idea that life doesn’t always unfold according to our plans—and that sometimes the unexpected path turns out to be the better one. Released September 11, “Battles You Never Knew” [Stream/Download] takes a considerably harder-edged approach. Written by PayCheck, the confrontational traditional-country song challenges artists who portray military sacrifice without having experienced it firsthand. A U.S. Army combat veteran who served more than two decades, including multiple combat operations in Afghanistan, PayCheck uses the song to question where the line falls between honoring veterans and turning their experiences into entertainment. The song’s release on the 25th anniversary of 9/11 added personal significance to a subject that has become an important part of PayCheck’s artistic voice. Saving Country Music recently profiled the song’s narrative in an exclusive interview and feature. Together, the releases offer a preview of the musical territory explored throughout Better Plan, from personal growth and hard-earned perspective to military service, to outlaw-country grit, humor, and storytelling. Better Plan was recorded at Gnome Studios in Nashville under the direction of acclaimed producer Bill McDermott (George Strait, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley). Rooted in country storytelling from his own life stories and those that come from his own creative intuition, the album reflects PayCheck’s commitment to honest songwriting, with a hard-earned perspective, and the kind of authenticity that has defined his steadily growing independent career. The son of legendary country artist Johnny PayCheck, John has spent his career carving out his own path rather than relying on his father’s legacy. His previous album, More Days Behind, received GRAMMY consideration in the Best Traditional Country Album category, while his music has earned coverage from Forbes, American Songwriter, Cowboys & Indians, Taste of Country, Saving Country Music, Country Music People and other country and entertainment media. With “Texan One Day,” PayCheck trades some of the heavier subject matter of his recent singles for an upbeat celebration of the state he hopes to one day call home. For John PayCheck, the only question is how long it will take before he officially becomes a Texan. “I just hope all the other Texans out there like it and find it a fun song,” PayCheck continued. “I had a lot of fun in the studio recording it for sure and I am honestly looking forward to, and will be very proud to call myself a Texan one day.” Better Plan Track List & Songwriters: “Better Plan” (John PayCheck)“Clover” (John PayCheck, Scott Gabbey)“Sons Of The Spark” (John PayCheck, Struggle Jennings)“Point Them North” (John PayCheck)“Uber To The Opry” (John PayCheck, Scott Gabbey)“Battles You Never Knew” (John PayCheck)“Pieces” (John PayCheck)“Texan One Day” (John PayCheck)“Stop and Say Hello” (Scott Gabbey)“All Up To Time” (John PayCheck)“Daddy Are You Listening” (John PayCheck)“JD Foster” (John PayCheck)“Turn the Page” (John PayCheck)“Shine” (John PayCheck) 2026 Better Plan Tour DatesOCT 16 – Brass Hall / Marble Falls, Texas [info/tickets] OCT 17 – Soggy Bottom Saloon / Beaumont, Texas [info/tickets] OCT 21-22 – Nashville Media Dates / Nashville, Tenn.OCT 31 – Feed & Seed / Fletcher, N.C.
