“These songs show two different sides of what I love about writing. ‘Whiskey Pickle’ takes a piece of my hometown and puts it into a song, while ‘The Sound It Makes’ is a grooving take on a bad break. It digs into loneliness and heartache, but it still has an energy that makes you want to move. Bringing these songs home to Indiana with The Impromptus, celebrating with everyone and shooting the video at Whiskey Pickle makes this release that much more personal,” shared Elliott Booe.
“Whiskey Pickle” turns a piece of Elliott Booe’s hometown history into an upbeat bar anthem, drawing its inspiration from the Clay City gathering place once known as Sutton’s Tavern. Rooted in a local story and a sense of hometown connection, the song brings a familiar place into the next chapter of his music.
Described by Elliott Booe as “a grooving take on a bad break,” “The Sound It Makes” pairs an upbeat feel with lyrics about loneliness, broken trust, and reaching an emotional breaking point. The song captures the sting of discovering the truth after the damage is done while holding on to self-worth amid the heartache.
“Whiskey Pickle” and “The Sound It Makes” were recorded at 8 Feet Deep Studios. The recordings feature Brad Bennett on drums, Robbie Anderson on bass, Max Woolery on electric guitar, Oliver Pigott on harmonica, and Taylor Tuke on keyboards. “Whiskey Pickle” also features Ciara Hager on fiddle.
To celebrate the release, Booe will host a party for “Whiskey Pickle” and “The Sound It Makes” on Nov. 20 at Show-Me’s in Terre Haute, Indiana, featuring The Impromptus and special guests. The celebration continues Nov. 21 with a “Whiskey Pickle” music video shoot party at the song’s namesake venue in Clay City, Indiana.

About Elliott Booe:
Elliott Booe is a Midwest-born, Nashville-based Americana and alt-country artist whose powerful vocals, honest lyrics, and old-soul storytelling reflect his roots in Clay City, Indiana. A former Indiana State University basketball player turned singer-songwriter, Elliott brings the same spirit of teamwork, discipline, and persistence to his music, pairing Midwestern sincerity with the craft and community of Nashville songwriting.
Since moving to Nashville, Elliott has made collaboration central to his work. His songwriting credits include “Grab Your Boots,” recorded by Chris Garner, and “Pink Cadillac,” recorded by Anna Wescoat. As the leader of The Impromptus, he brings together a collective of artists, musicians, and writers whose performances range from intimate acoustic trio sets to full eight-piece electric shows. His commitment to original music also led to a 2026 residency at Nashville’s The Vinyl Lounge, featuring a rotating lineup of artists and a shared emphasis on creative community. Elliott released his debut album, “First Off,” on April 25, 2025, introducing a collection of songs grounded in candid storytelling and lived experience. The project includes “Song on the Radio,” which won the 2025 Josie Music Award for Song of the Year in the Country Male III category. He followed with “Pilgrim Chapter 34,” released Dec. 17, 2025, a heartfelt tribute to his late father that began a deeply personal father-and-son-themed project. Rooted in gratitude, loss, and family connection, the song reflects the role his father’s life and music continue to play in his creative journey.
In 2026, Elliott expanded his catalog with “Chorus No Song” and “Onion Grass,” followed by “Onion Grass: The Album” on April 3. Recorded live at historic FAME Studios with The Impromptus, the project grew out of connections made at the Muscle Shoals Songwriter Festival. Its title track traces its beginnings to a coffee-shop conversation that sparked a new creative direction, bringing Elliott’s emphasis on collaboration into the recording itself.
Elliott and The Impromptus have opened for Alabama, Dustin Lynch, Brantley Gilbert, Blackhawk, Whey Jennings and Kentucky MotoFest with additional appearances at TMMR at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch and the Muscle Shoals Songwriter Festival. Their live shows bring together original songs, layered harmonies and the individual strengths of the artists sharing the stage.
That momentum continued with six 2026 Josie Music Award nominations across Elliott’s solo and group credits, recognizing his vocals, “Pilgrim Chapter 34,” “Onion Grass,” and the work of Elliott Booe & The Impromptus.
Looking ahead, Elliott is preparing “The Sound It Makes,” scheduled for release Nov. 20, 2026, with “Whiskey Pickle” joining the next chapter of an ongoing recording project. Combining a hometown-inspired barroom story with a more reflective exploration of heartbreak, the new songs continue his commitment to finding humor, heart, and musical connection in everyday experience.
