AOsTPrzOEY0uuR9uFRkmdYD0mRaqNrn8h-cw6LiQTrYThe Kentucky Headhunters are scheduled to play this years Louder Than Life Festival with Black Stone Cherry. Both bands were founded in Kentucky and family ties exist between the bands. Richard Young (Rhythm guitarist and vocalist) of the Kentucky Headunters is the father of Blackstone Cherry drummer/vocalist John Fred Young. If you have never seen the Kentucky Headhunters live then you really need to check them out on one of their upcoming tour dates. Doug Phelps is a solid frontman who plays bass and has great vocals incorporating a rock/country blues vibe who can work a crowd into a frenzy. Backing up Phelps with back ground vocals and rhythm guitar is Richard Young and his brother Fred Young is an animal keeping the beat on the drums. Rounding out this amazing group is Greg Martin on lead guitar. Brothers Fred and Richard Young also take their fair share in performing lead vocals for the band on a number of Headhunter tracks. The Kentucky Headhunters will be rocking the stage just as hard if not harder than any other band to play the “Louder Than Life” Festival stages!

Blackstone Cherry consists of band members Chris Robertson on lead vocals and lead guitar, Ben Wells on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Jon Lawhon on bass guitar and backing vocals, and John Fred Young (Son of Ky Headhunter Richard Young) on drums and backing vocals. Blackstone Cherry is on Road Runner Records label, who is also the label of Stonesour, Slipknot, Theory of A Deadman, Rush and Many other top bands. Magic Mountain is the latest CD release for Black Stone Cherry and the band is mostly touring overseas at this time, so be sure to check out one of their few upcoming US dates including this one at the Louder Than Life Festival! I would personally love to see a live collaboration onstage featuring these 2 bands performing one of each others songs together! Find out if they will in a couple months at “Louder Than Life”!
