Hitting the road in support of Warren Haynes on this tour is a 3 piece band  from Nashville, TN by the name of ChessBoxer. ChessBoxer is made up of Matt Menefee on Banjo (5 string), Ross Holmes on violin (4 string) and Royal Masat on upright bass (4 string). For more information on ChessBoxer please visit

Also taking on an opening role for the evening’s performance and playing in support of Haynes on this recent tour is Gill Landry. Landry is from Louisiana and performs a series of solo acoustic songs in an intimate role. For more information on Gill Landry and his music please take time to visit

Like I mentioned earlier this current Warren Haynes tour is in support of his newest album titled “Ashes and Dust”. This is the first album in a long time that I have been able to sit down and listen to all the way through without hitting the “next”button. If you get a chance to catch Warren Live, Go for it! Warren brings an energy like no other to the stage. Haynes is not a dynamic, all over the stage type of performer but you can get lost in guitar solo after guitar solo as Haynes expresses that energy through his facial expressions and his Gibson Les Paul guitars. Haynes has put together a team of musicians like no other to back him up as the “Ashes and Dust” band included members of Chessboxer and Jeff Sipe on drums. You will hear a little bit of everything on this tour. The Columbus stop featured music of The Allman Brothers Band, songs from the new album, and covers of The Band, Bob Dylan, Little Feat and Phil Lesh. My personal favorite performances of the night included a song from his new album that is titled “Coal Tattoo” and a cover of The Band’s “Ophelia”. This tour has just started and each show looks to include a different setlist so if you have seen this tour in one city, go again! It is bound to be a different show with even more great music from the legendary Warren Haynes.
