CUTT is very unique with many talents away from the stage much like the rest of her family. Hannah Cutt, CUTT for short; decided the government studies wasn’t her passion as she left Georgetown College and pursued her dream as a solo artist. Her debut EP was titled “Nightmares” and released this year. “Messy” is a single off the EP which is a glass window into the soul of what makes CUTT herself. Opening up about addiction and sexual frustration “Messy” is a eye opener for fans.
“The interesting thing is that my music is not the result of my competitive nature. My get what you want mentality. In fact, my music is the result of my inability to get what I want. I thought my career as an artist would be the result of this can do, hardworking, relentless attitude, a mindset stemming from the belief that I, Hannah, am in control. But ultimately it’s been in the face of powerlessness where I have started to do the real work and discover who I am as a person and subsequently as an artist.”

““Messy” is about sexual frustration but also frustration in general. I wrote it when I first tried to get sober and no longer had alcohol to get out of my own head; something I still struggle with. “Messy” is a fantasy song about escape.” — CUTT

The debut single off of the EP, “Messy”, is sexy, aggressive and unexpected. The husky-voiced singer says “Messy” is a song about “sexual frustration but also frustration in general. “I wrote it when I first tried to get sober and no longer had alcohol to get out of my own head; something I still struggle with,” explains the singer. “”Messy” is a fantasy song about escape.”
Cutt celebrated two years of sobriety this July and describes her decision to get sober as the foundation of her development as an artist. “Nightmares is inextricably a byproduct of my sobriety. You avoid a lot of demons when you’re constantly trying to control something, like an addiction. When you take it away you are left with yourself. This EP is the beginning of that process; facing the fears you didn’t know you had, head on.”
