(September 17, 2026) — Traditional country recording artist Dave Wilbert will release his new six-song EP, The Good News, this Friday, September 18 via Willbilly Records & Symphonic [Pre-Save/Pre-Add]. Included as one of Saving Country Music’s Most Anticipated Country Albums of 2026, the new EP is a collection of traditional country songs that draw on timeless storytelling of love, faith, farm life, summer nights and second chances, with the enduring sound of ’90s country that Wilbert has crafted his reputation on. Featuring two songs co-written by Wilbert—including his recent singles, “All Summer Long,” and the poignant farming-inspired “The Corn”—The Good News brings together a diverse group of accomplished Nashville songwriters and producers while maintaining a cohesive musical identity rooted in 90s style country. For Wilbert, the EP represents another step in his commitment to making country music that puts songwriting and storytelling first. “The Good News is really about the kind of country music I love—the songs that tell a story, make you feel something and stay with you after the song is over,” says Wilbert. “These six songs cover a lot of ground, from love and summer memories to farming, loneliness and second chances, but they all have one thing in common: they’re honest. I’m proud of the songs we chose, the people who helped bring them to life, and especially the opportunity to share this music with people who still believe in the heart of country music.” The EP opens with “All Summer Long,” co-written by Wilbert and Troy Clampitt, a nostalgic celebration of carefree summer days, a song previously featured on Amazon Music’s ’Break Through Country’ & Apple Music’s ‘New In Country’ editorial playlists. It is followed by “Let’s Call It What It Is,” written by Patrick Jason Matthews (Randy Travis, Trace Adkins, Travis Tritt) and Roxie Dean (Reba, Lorrie Morgan, Lee Ann Womack), which pairs Wilbert’s ’90s-style country crooning with a timeless story about recognizing and embracing genuine love. Wilbert turns his attention to rural America on “The Corn,” co-written with Kevin Barton. The song was premiered by RFD-TV in August, and was inspired by the sight of an abandoned farm, reflecting on the disappearance of family farms and the generations of hard work left behind. It offers an emotional perspective on a changing rural landscape by an artist who lived that life as a farmer himself. The EP continues with “Alone With You,” written by Kerry Kurt Phillips (George Strait, Tim McGraw, Craig Morgan) and Ron Williams; “Footprints On The Moon,” written by Kevin Barton, Ryan Bizarri and Dee Briggs; and an acoustic version of “If You Ever Feel Like Loving Me Again,” written by Jeff Stevens, Jerry Kilgore and Steve Bogard. Originally featured on Wilbert’s debut album, the latter has become one of his most-streamed songs with more than 2.5 million streams, making its stripped-down acoustic treatment a fitting addition to The Good News. Recorded at The Freeway Studio, The Good News was co-produced by Wilbert alongside Nashville producers Lonnie Wilson (Joe Diffie, Wade Hayes), Julian King (George Jones, Tim McGraw, George Strait) and the late Eddie Blount, Wilbert’s former manager, co-producer and friend, who passed away in 2025.
