RIAA Newly Certifies Diamond Rio’s “Meet in the Middle” Double-Platinum; “Beautiful Mess” and “One More Day” Platinum

Nashville, Tenn. (September 18, 2026) — GRAMMY Award-winning, multi-Platinum country group Diamond Rio has announced its forthcoming four-song EP, America Works, arriving November 13 via Rio Records 2.0 / One Riot Records. The project kicks off today with the release of its title track, “America Works.” Listen / download / watch HERE. Pre-save EP HERE.
This year also marks 35 years since the release of Diamond Rio’s newly certified 2X Platinum debut single, “Meet In The Middle,” and Platinum-selling debut album, Diamond Rio. More than three decades after making country music history with their first No. 1, the band continues that musical legacy with a new collection of original music. Rio’s “Beautiful Mess” and “One More Day” are also newly certified Platinum by RIAA.
Written by Diamond Rio’s Jimmy Olander and Jeffrey East, “America Works” centers on the idea of Americans showing up for one another through service, sacrifice and simple acts of selflessness.
The song is accompanied by an official music video that world premieres tonight on The Heartland Network’s Country Music Today as the first video in the 6 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. CT hour. Ahead of the premiere, Diamond Rio will host a Facebook Live at 5:30 p.m. ET to answer fan questions and discuss the new project.
Directed by Diamond Rio drummer Micah Schweinsberg, the video was filmed in part at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and features military personnel along with the band’s own family members, friends and crew. The video follows three people at different stages of life as they face personal challenges, give back to others and serve their country, reflecting the song’s message of community, service and looking out for one another.
“We started at Fort Campbell getting shots of our military on the base,” says Schweinsberg. “I’ve always respected our military, but seeing them train and function reinstated my respect for their willingness to sacrifice in order to keep our freedom in this country.”
Olander says bringing the production in-house and surrounding the band with people close to them made the video especially meaningful.
“Other than a few soldiers at Fort Campbell, every cast member in the video is connected to us personally,” says Olander. “It made the whole thing feel incredibly meaningful.”
Following “America Works,” Diamond Rio will release “Other Side of The World” on October 16. Written by Olander, Marty Roe and Heather Morgan, the deeply personal song was inspired by Roe watching his eldest daughter move to Australia after high school to attend Hillsong College to study music.
The song also marks a first for Diamond Rio, featuring Carson McKee on lead vocals, performing the duet alongside Roe.
“The inspiration was trying to create a special piece of music that tells some of Marty’s pride and heartbreak as his daughter moved to Australia,” explains Olander. “Marty was very open and transparent when we wrote it, and things got emotional a time or two. Now, with Carson McKee in the band, it created a great opportunity to cut the song as a duet.”
For McKee, the song’s story hit close to home. At only age 24 when she recorded her parts, she had recently graduated from college and had been living in Nashville for about a year, away from her own family.
“This was emotional for me,” says McKee. “I was homesick, and there’s a line in my verse, ‘I miss you Dad like you’ll never know.’ I remember having to cut it over and over because I couldn’t sing it without crying. It’s a powerful song, and getting to sing it as a duet with Marty was really special.”
The full America Works EP arrives November 13, along with “Pink Guitar,” featuring McKee on lead vocals. Written by Olander, Hayley McLean and Josh Shilling, the track is the third original featured on the collection and represents another milestone for Diamond Rio’s newest vocalist.
It’s rounded out by the previously released instrumental “The Kick,” which featured Diamond Rio’s two newest members for the first time.
All songs were produced and co-written by Olander, with their accompanying music videos written and directed by Schweinsberg.
