“It’s Christmas Time, It’s Christmas Time” It’s that time of year when we celebrate the birth of our savior and enjoy quality time with friends and family. Deborah Allen speaks to Music Matters Magazine and gives the insight to her Christmas and how she will be spending it this year.
Ryan: Christmas is a time for joy and happiness to spend with friends and family. How do you plan to spend your Christmas this year?
Deborah: I plan to spend part Of my Christmas at the Franklin theater performing at my “sold out” Rockin’ Little Christmas show! It’ll be like one great big party with all my family, friends and great band including horn section with amazing background singers! After that, I plan to relax and just soak in all the love that the holidays bring! We are so blessed to have such a sweet family and so many great friends! Remembering the birth of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, I give thanks and bask in the light of love all through the Holidays!
What are your favorite festivities surrounding Christmas?
I love to get together with friends and reminisce about the year and Planning for an exciting new year! Just sharing time with family and friends is festive to me! I love hearing all the Christmas music! Laughing! Gathering around the table to share a Christmas feast together! And also Christmas morning waking up to share gifts with each other! I love seeing everyone so happy!
Let’s settle the debate: when should someone put up their Christmas tree?
I like to put up our Christmas tree on or just after Thanksgiving day! It’s a great marker for the new holiday season to come!
What is the best gift you’ve received for Christmas?
I was blessed to have a wonderful childhood! We always got lots of fun things bicycles toys and all of that! But my most special Christmas gift, was the year I received a Bible with my name engraved on the front of it, given to me by my Mother and Daddy.
I knew in my heart that that was the most special gift I would ever received! I cherish it to this day.

Does your family have any Christmas traditions that are unique?
My big sister is a choir director and organist. We loved to go to midnight mass to celebrate the birth of Jesus and listen to her play.
With Christmas comes cold weather and snow. Do you like enjoy the cold weather? Snow?
If I am bundled up enough… I love the cold weather… especially if it snows!!! Actually, I love being snowed in with my husband, some Turner Classic Movies and a big mug of hot chocolate!
Did you build a snowman when it were a kid?
Oh yeah!!! My sisters and I have built lots of snow men! We would even build a little family of Snow men, women and kids! We would stay outside playing in the snow till we were frozen stiff… then come in and I thaw by the fireplace!!! Such great memories!!’
